This makes a great gift, fundraising project or just a personal touch with a twist.

Tied Fleece Blanket: Let's get started. This is an all time favorite  ' no sew' pattern for a warm and cozy fleece throw. It's fun, easy and
takes just a few hours to complete.

Here's what you will need:

2 different fleece fabrics - see below for recommended yardage -  (solid and pattern or two complimentary patterns- your choice - dare to add flare! kids will love it)
Yardage: Baby or Puppy size - 1 yard of each fabric (2 yds total); Throw size- 1.5 of each (3 yds. total);  Child - 1.75 of each (3.5 total yds);  Teen/Adult - 2 yds each ( 4 yds total)

Sharp scissors
Tape measure or ruler
A piece of cardboard or paper measuring 5" x 5"
Place the fleece... one on top of the other so that the softer side or more brightly colored sides face out and the bias of each piece is running in the same direction . Match
them up so that all corners and sides line up.
Take your piece of 5"x5" paper lay it on the corner of your fabric. Then cut out the corner through both layers. Proceed to do this on the remaining 3 corners.
Now let's cut the fringes. Cut approximately 5 inches into both pieces of fleece. Make these cuts about a finger width wide. (This is a fairly easy width to tie).  >TIP> I find it
helpful to lay a tape measure on the 5" mark across the length of the fleece. I then cut up to the tape measure. This helps to keep the fringe uniform in size.
Proceed to cut your fringe on all four sides.
Starting on one side, tie over hand knots (use the fringe cut from the upper and lower piece). >TIP> This is the same method you would use to tie a balloon.  Tie these knots
around the entire blanket. Trim your ties as needed to make them more uniform.
Viola!   Enjoy!,

Diane

I hoped you enjoyed this project.  I created a such a blanket as a fundraising project for the Greater Nashua Humane Society. If you are so inclined please consider a
contribution... http://www.hsfn.org/  . This is a wonderful organization whose mission is to provide for and protect abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted animals, as
well as,  promote animal welfare through programs and services that mutually benefit animals and people.
